Fight of the Bumble bee buzz buzz

2023

Created from old, discarded terrycloth towels and dyed using scraps of food waste, this quilt transforms materials once considered spent into a vibrant meditation on renewal and loss. Its flowers, leaves, and wandering bumblebees celebrate the beauty and essential role of pollinators while drawing attention to their increasingly fragile existence. Through reuse, natural colour, and handwork, the piece connects the plight of the bumblebee to a larger message: what we discard—and what we choose to preserve—matters.

Previously loved towels dyed with food waste, yarn, cotton thread, wool batting, pompom tassles.
